Overview

National Lien Search performs full municipal searches in all 50 states. The integration with Resware is done through a Resware to Resware partner setup. National Lien Search allows customers to order municipal lien searches for purchase products, tax certifications for refinance products, and use custom action events for additional services such as HOA status reports from within Resware.

This demonstrates how to set up and use the National Tax and Lien Search integration.

Begin here: Contact National Lien Search, LLC to register for services at (863) 698-7557 ext. 1299 or email support@nationalliensearch.com. Inform National Lien Search the account will be a Resware integration. Account information will be provided, including a username and password.

Note: National Lien Search is powered by Resware and they are experts at integrating with other Resware systems. They will be happy to assist and offer efficient suggestions, including use of action events and document triggers.

Create Partner Types

Either use a partner type already in Resware like Searcher, or create new partner types if multiple search partners are needed.

Admin/Partner Related/Partner Types

Click Add.
Enter the Name such as Lien Search or Tax Cert Search.
Enter 1 as Max Per File.
Select County from the Locale Restriction drop-down menu.
Click Save.
Repeat if multiple partner types are needed.

Create a National Lien Search Partner

Admin/Partners

Click New.
Enter a Company Name, such as National Lien Search, LLC.
Enter the partner’s information and set the Partner Type to Lien Search and Tax Cert Search if multiple partner types are utilized.
Click Edit Counties and enable the partner for the states and counties where the search integration will be used.
Click XML Config and select Enable XML Transmission of Notes and Documents and Don’t Also Send Notes and Documents via Email.
Click Save.
Click Save.

Note: This new partner must be on a file when ordering services from National Lien Search. It can be auto-added by another partner, by the action list, or manually added by a user.

Create a Partner Employee

Admin/Partners

Highlight the partner created above and click New in the partner employee area.

Enter the First Name as National Lien Search Integration Services.
Enter the Email Address as support@nationalliensearch.com.
Check Primary Contact, which will set this employee as the primary contact by default when the partner is added to the file.
Check Enabled in the Website Access area, which allows the web services to be utilized.
Check Override Username and enter the Username as NationalLien.
Click Generate to populate a Password. This will ensure company-specific password requirements are met. Write down this password to use in the validation step.
Enable the following Website Roles:
- Web Services: Add Documents
- Web Services: Add Notes
- Web Services: Get Documents
- Web Services: Get Notes
- Web Services: Order Placement
- Web Services: Search Files
Click Save.

Password Validation

Website

After a password is set or reset for a partner employee, the employee is required to enter a new password the next time they access the website. To ensure this integration is set up properly, log into the company’s Resware website with the username and password created in the prior step and create a new password. Provide this new password to National Lien Search.

Note: It may be beneficial to set the expiration date of this password on the partner employee setup out for an extended period of time. Check with company-specific password security protocols to verify this will be acceptable or have a reminder in place to update this password as needed to ensure this integration’s service will not be interrupted.

Note: The Username and Password will need to be provided to National Lien Search to ensure the documents are returned on the file’s Documents panel.

Create New Document Types

Admin/Documents and Templates/Document Types

National Lien Search will return search report documents and invoices based on the services requested. The following is a list of documents that will need to be active document types in Resware, or be created using the following steps.

Click Add.
Enter the Document Type.
Optionally, enter the Max on File. This would be the maximum number of documents with this document type allowed on a file.
Disable Default to Internal Only to allow National Lien Search see this document type.
In the Website area, check Allow upload for Partner Types:
- Choose Selected, click Edit, and Add the Tax Lien Search partner type to allow only National Lien Search to upload this document type to the file.

Choose All to allow any partner type to upload this document type to the file.
Click Save.
Repeat the above steps for each of the above document types added.
Make note of the DocumentTypeIDs to provide to National Lien Search. If this column is not visible, right click in the grid, click Show, then select DocumentTypeID.

Create Action Events

Creating action events facilitate, through XML, additional functionality or services on a file. This example will send a request to National Lien Search to order an HOA Search Report on a file. To discuss additional action events, contact National Lien Search.

Resware to Resware Partner Mappings

Admin/Partner Related/Resware to Resware Partner Mappings

Click Add, then click Select to search for the partner added in the prior step.
Enter the Username and Password as provided by National Lien Search.

Order Placement

Verify that the Service Type is set to Order Placement.
Enter the URL as https://portal.nationalliensearch.com/OrderPlacementService/v3/service.svc.
Enter the Client ID as provided by National Lien Search.
Enter the Office ID as provided by National Lien Search.
Enter the Service Version as v3.
Check the box Don’t Send Sales Price or SSNs.
The Transaction/Product Type Mapping area maps Resware transaction/products to the services National Lien Search provides.
- Click Add to map a Resware transaction/product to a National Lien Search service (see chart).
  - Select a Transaction Type from the drop-down menu.
  - Select a Product Type from the drop-down menu.
  - Enter a Remote Transaction ID from the chart below.
  - Enter a Remote Product ID from the chart below.
  - Click Save.
- Repeat for each transaction/product that will use the National Lien Search services.

Note: Multiple Resware transaction/products can be mapped to the same remote transaction/product services.

The Primary Contact Mapping area maps the Resware user to the National Lien Search account user.
- Click Add to map an internal user to their account set up with National Lien Search.
  - Select the Contact from the drop-down menu.
  - Enter the Remote ID as provided by National Lien Search.
  - If only one internal user will be mapped, check Default.
  - Click Save.
  - Repeat for each user as needed.

Notes/Documents

Set the Service type to Notes/Documents in the drop-down menu.
Enter the URL as https://portal.nationalliensearch.com/ReswareWebServices/ReceiveNoteService.svc.
Enter the Coordinator Type ID as 12.
The Document Type Mapping area maps all document types that will be used between Resware and National Lien Search.
- Click Add.
- Select Additional Order Information as the Document Type from the drop-down menu.
- Enter 1057 as the corresponding Remote ID.

Note: Contact National Lien Search to request additional remote IDs if there is a need to send additional document types.

Action Events

Set the Service to Action Event in the drop-down menu.
Enter the URL as https://portal.nationalliensearch.com/ReswareWebServices/ReceiveActionEventService.svc.
The Action Event Mapping area maps action events from Resware to request National Lien Search events. Note: This example is showing how to set up requesting an HOA Search Report.
- Click Add.
- Select the Action Event HOA Search Report from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the Code as 42 which was provided by National Lien Search for an HOA Search Report.
- Click Save.
Click Save.

Enable the XML Tab on Products

Admin/Action Lists/Product Types

Edit each product on which enabling the Notarize functionality is needed.
Click the XML tab. If the Resware XML package already exists on the product, skip to the next product type.
- Click Add and select Resware from the drop-down options.
- Click OK.
Click Save.
Click Close.

Manually send search request

Select Resware: Send Order – National Lien Search, LLC in the XML Message drop-down menu, then click Send.

Sending search requests automatically

Admin/Action Lists/Action Groups

The following steps will create two actions that will send the search requests to National Lien Search, LLC: one action for purchase product types and the other for refinance product types.

Highlight the action group that should have the new action and click Edit Actions.
Click Add Action.
Click New Global Action.
- Enter an Action Name for purchase products, like Request lien search.
- Click Save.
Select a Coordinator for the start and complete of the action.
Other options, such as Auto-start when Added to File, may be utilized, depending on what is needed to make the flow of the action group work for each customer.
Click Save.
Repeat above steps to create an action to request a tax certification for refinance products.

Highlight the action for Request lien search that was just added and click Edit Affects.
Click Add in the Complete Task Marked Done Affects section.
- In 5 – Marking Done Sends XML, select the following:
- XML: Resware: Send Order.
- Send To: Lien Search
- Click Save.
Repeat for the action to Request tax certification and Send To: Tax Cert Search partner type.

The following steps will create an action that will send an action event to National Lien Search, LLC to order an HOA Search Report.

Highlight the action group that should have the new action and click Edit Actions.
Click Add Action.
Click New Global Action.
- Enter an Action Name like Request HOA status report.
- Click Save.
Select a Coordinator for the start and complete of the action.
Other options, such as Auto-start when Added to File, may be utilized, depending on what is needed to make the flow of the action group work for each customer.
Click Save.

Highlight the action for Request HOA status report that was just added and click Edit Affects.
Click Add in the Complete Task Marked Done Affects section.
- In 5 – Marking Done Sends XML, select the following:
- XML: Resware: Send Action Event.
- Send To: Lien Search
- Action Event: HOA Search Report.
- Click Save.

File/XML/Resware to Resware

XML messages are shown when the order is sent with the National Lien Search file number in the Comments column, when documents are received or sent, or if there are any issues with processing either request.

National Lien Search will send confirmation emails, return search results with documents attached, and add an invoice for each service to the file.
