NITIC/ITIC: CPL & Jacket (National Investors/Investors Title Ins Co)

Overview

The National Title Insurance/Investors Title Insurance integration allows users to generate and void policy jackets and closing protection letters from within Resware. When this integration is used, the documents are attached to a file without a user having to go to the underwriter’s website.

This information demonstrates how to set up and use the National Title Insurance/Investors Title Insurance integration.

Begin here: Contact a National/Investors Title representative to register and receive login credentials.

Enabling the Office Options

CPL

Admin/General Setup/Offices/Search Data

  • Enable the CPL: Allow request of CPL from underwriters office option.

Policy Jacket

Admin/General Setup/Offices/Web Services

Enable the Policy: Enable eJacket Requests office option.

Enabling the XML Client

Admin/General Setup/XML Clients

  • Highlight National/Investors – Client Connect and click Edit.
  • Click the Enabled check-box to enable this client service.
  • Enter the Web Service URL as https://rwprod01.invtitle.com/.
  • Enter the Outgoing Username and Outgoing Password provided by National Title/Investors Title.
  • Click Save, Save.

Create an Underwriter Partner

Note: Skip to the next step if an existing underwriter partner is being used for this integration.

Admin/Partners

  • Click New.
  • Enter a Company Name, such as National Title Insurance/Investors Title Insurance Company.
  • Enter the partner’s information and set the Partner Type to Underwriter.
  • Click Save.
  • Complete the setup in the Adding an Underwriter article.

Selecting the underwriter service

Admin/Partners/Edit Partner/Underwriter/Miscellaneous

  • Select National/Investors – ClientCONNECT from the Underwriter Service drop-down menu.
  • Select the CPL from the CPL Document Typedrop-down menu.
    • Select Loan Policy Jacket from the Lender Jacket Document Type drop-down menu.
    • Select Owner Policy Jacket from the Owner Jacket Document Type drop-down menu.
  • Click Save.

CPL Addresses

Admin/Partners/Edit Lender/Lender

  • If a lender’s address on the CPL needs to be different than the lender’s address in Resware, click on the Lender option in the Edit Partner panel and complete the CPL Address Override information with the address that should appear on the CPL.
  • Click Save, Save.

Requesting a CPL

File/New Loans

  • In addition to having a lender on the file, fill in the fields for Loan Amount, Loan Number, and Loan Type.
  • Click the CPL option.
  • Verify the CPL Lender Datainformation is correct.
    • Click Populate CPL Override Address if an override address is available and needed for a CPL. 
    • Click Populate Lender Address to toggle back to the lender’s address.
  • Click Request CPL.
  • Enter the NITIC/ITIC Username and NITIC/ITIC Passwordprovided by National/Investors Title.
    • Note: The username and password will be retained for each user after it’s entered the first time.
  • Click Login to verify the username and populate the default options determined by NITIC/ITIC for the required fields: Issuing Office, Underwriter, Settlement Provider, Property Usage, Product, and CPL Coverage Limit. These fields can be changed by selecting a different available option.
    • Clicking on the I forgot my username or password link will open the NITIC/ITIC website, which allows the user to reset their login information.
  • The Underwriter File Number is displayed after the username and password are entered. If this is the first time ordering a NITIC/ITIC product on this file, the Underwriter File Number will be blank.
  • The Product selected will determine which field(s) will be required.
  • Enter new or verify the pre-populated field information for Lender Name, Successor Clause, and Buyer Data or Seller Data.
  • Click Generate.

The CPL is created.

  • Click OK.

The created CPL documents will be displayed in the CPL Documents area on the CPL Data panel and on the File/Documents panel.

Voiding a CPL

File/New Loans

  • Click CPL.
  • Highlight the CPL to void.
  • Click Void.
  • Confirm the CPL should be voided by clicking Yes.
  • Enter or verify that the populated Username and Password are correct and click Save.

The CPL is voided.

  • Click OK.

Requesting a Policy Jacket

File/Policy

  • Select an Owner’s or a Lender’s tab and complete the information on the policy panel as needed, including the Effective date in the Current Policy area.
  • Click Generate to open the Jackets Data panel.
  • Click Request Jacket.
  • Enter the NITIC/ITIC Username and NITIC/ITIC Passwordprovided by National/Investors Title.
    • Note: The username and password will be retained for each user after it’s entered the first time.
  • Click Login to verify the username and populate the default options determined by NITIC/ITIC for the required fields: Issuing Office, Underwriter, Settlement Provider, and Property Usage. Verify these fields or update them by selecting a different available option if needed.
    • Clicking on the I forgot my username or password link will open the NITIC/ITIC website where the user is able to reset their login information.
  • The Underwriter File Number is displayed after the username and password are entered. If this is the first time ordering a NITIC/ITIC product on this file, the Underwriter File Number will be blank.
  • Select a Product from the available options.
  • The Coverage Amount, Effective Date, Lender, Buyer Data and Seller Data auto-populate from information contained in the file. Verify these fields and update if needed.
  • Click Generate.

The created jacket is displayed in the Jackets Data panel and on the File/Documents panel.

  • Highlight the jacket and click Open to view the document from the Jackets Data panel.

Voiding a Policy Jacket

File/Policy

  • Click Generate on the policy to be voided.
  • Highlight the jacket to void.
  • Click Void.
  • Confirm the jacket should be voided by clicking Yes.
  • Enter or verify that the populated Username and Password are correct and click Save.

The policy jacket is voided.

  • Click OK.

View XML Request

CPL

File/New Loans

The XML for each CPL is available to view. This tool is useful to assist with troubleshooting any issues that may occur.

  • Click CPL.
  • Highlight the CPL to view.
  • Click View Request.
    • To copy the entire XML, click in the XML data box, use Ctrl-A to select all of the XML data, and Ctrl-C to copy all of the XML data, then open an email or document and use Ctrl-V to paste the XML data that was copied.
  • Click OK to close the panel.

Policy jacket

File/Policy

The XML for each policy is available to view. This tool is useful to assist with troubleshooting any issues that may occur.

  • Click Generate in the Current Policy area.
  • Highlight the jacket to view.
  • Click View Request.
    • To copy the entire XML, click in the XML data box, use Ctrl-A to select all of the XML data, and Ctrl-C to copy all of the XML data, then open an email or document and use Ctrl-V to paste the XML data that was copied.
  • Click OK to close the panel.
