Overview
This demonstrates how to search for existing files within the system.
Searching for files by address
Search/Files
or click on the Search for Files icon
- Enter the search criteria for the file to be located and click the Search button.
- Any number of fields can be searched on simultaneously. Only files that meet all the search criteria will be returned.
- Use % as a wild card to match any number of characters in a text field (e.g. “%maple” will locate “Red maple”).
- All text fields automatically end with a wildcard character and none are case sensitive (e.g. searching for “oak” will return “Oak” and “Oak tree”).
- Enter the details for the specific property address in the Address area:
- Enter the street Number of the property on the file.
- Enter the Street name.
- Do not include street direction or street suffix, as these are separate fields on the Property Information screen and aren’t used as search criteria.
- Select the property State.
- Select the City.
- The State selection will populate the available cities in that state.
- Enter the ZIP code.
- Click Search.
After clicking the Search button, all files that match the search criteria will be listed in the Search Results grid.
- Highlight the file from the list and double-click on it or click Open File to open the file.
Searching for files by buyer/seller names

- Click on the Search for Files icon.
- Enter the details for a file with a specific buyer/seller:
- Clear any prior search criteria.
- Select the Buyer/Seller Type.
- Enter the First Name of the buyer/seller.
- Enter the buyer/seller Last Name.
- If the buyer/seller is an entity, enter the Company Name.
- Click Search.
After clicking the Search button, all files that match the search criteria will be listed in the Search Results grid.
- Highlight the file from the list and double-click on it or click Open File to open the file.
Searching for files by partner

- Click on the Search for Files icon
- Enter the details for a file with a specific partner.
- Clear any prior search criteria.
- Click Select in the Partner Company area.
- Enter the search criteria for the partner, such as the name or partner type, on the Search/Add Partner panel and click the Search button.
- Any number of fields can be searched on simultaneously.
- Use % as a wild card to match any number of characters in a text field (e.g. “%Bank” will locate “Freedom Bank”).
- All text fields automatically end with a wildcard character and none are case sensitive (e.g. searching for “oak” will return “Oak” and “Oak tree”).
- In the Search Results grid, highlight the partner and click Select to return to the File Search screen.
- To locate all files with the selected partner, regardless of the partner type, remove the partner type from the Partner Type dropdown.
- Click Search.
After clicking the Search button, all files that match the search criteria will be listed in the Search Results grid.
- Highlight the file from the list and double-click on it or click Open File to open the file.
